12 Iconic Queenstown Wedding Venues
Golden light over moody mountains, the sound of glasses clinking around long tables and music and dancing carrying late into the night. Queenstown weddings are never just about the scenery, but where to start? These twelve venues are the ones I keep coming back to for 2026 and 2027.

Ayrburn is one of Queenstown’s newest venues, and it blends historic stone buildings with modern luxury. It’s a 160 year old farm transformed into a luxury food and wine precinct. I love the established grounds and the opulent textures. The combination of heritage architecture with contemporary design makes photos feel both timeless and fresh. There are many different eateries & versatile areas to choose from, and so much variety to explore here, which always makes for an inspiring wedding.

The Winehouse really needs no introduction. It’s having a well-deserved moment right now, and it’s easy to see why. Tucked into the Gibbston Valley, it feels like a European style garden escape made for weddings. The close knit team know weddings inside and out, with in-house catering and a trusted network of florists and stylists to make everything seamless; from seasonal menus to beautifully styled spaces, so you can simply relax and enjoy. The dance floor is always so much fun at The Winehouse and the signature cocktails are perfection. With its charming homestead, hedged lawns, whiskey room and vineyard surrounds, it’s a venue that feels both elegant and welcoming.
If you’re after everything in the one location, a relaxed, homestead-style weddings with long-table dining, garden ceremony, and a tuscan feel then look no further.

Eichardt’s is pure boutique luxury. I love being in the heart of Queenstown while still feeling like you’re in an elegant, private world. The interiors photograph beautifully with rich textures and stylish art, while just outside the door, Lake Wakatipu shimmers as the ultimate backdrop. Chic & luxuri

Amisfield pairs modern architecture with the calm beauty of Lake Hayes. The clean lines of the building contrast with the softness of the lake and mountain reflections. It’s intimate and stylish, and for couples who love incredible food & wine, there’s no better place to celebrate.
Foodies and wine lovers this will be perfect for your refined celebration.

Oakwood Estate is a dream for garden weddings with hidden luxury. Sweeping lawns and hilltop spots create elegant ceremony spaces, while the estate itself feels private and tucked away. It’s just minutes from town, but once you arrive, it feels like a hidden world designed for celebration. Managed by the expert team at One Fine Day and home to that magical tree.

The sense of space at NZ High Country is extraordinary. Golden tussocks, expansive skies, and mountain ranges create a cinematic backdrop that never fails to impress. With multiple sites for your ceremony and reception, it’s always different and you feel like you can touch the sky.
Boasting four different sites, Lake June, Tussock Point, Summer Views and Country Courtyard to choose from for your ceremony and reception, prepare to be blown away. There’s views of Lake Wakatipu, Coronet Peak, Lake Johnson, Queenstown itself and The Remarkables.
So much natural beauty and a really great friendly hands on team. There are permanent marquees for receptions or you can put tipis or a marque on a different site. So much flexibility to make it your own here.
Best for fun adventurous couples who want privacy and epic alpine views.

Millbrook Resort has a timeless country club feel. From the iconic tree lined avenue and the world class 27-hole golf course and driving range, it’s polished without being stuffy. Five-star hospitality in a setting that feels both expansive and relaxed.
Couples have multiple options for ceremonies or portraits, for both small and larger gatherings. The staff are always so lovely and there is a real balance of the beauty of a golf resort with the warmth of a true wedding experience. There’s also accommodation and facilities like a beautiful spa and wellness centre on site.

Manata Lodge has such a cozy, personal atmosphere. I love that couples can stay on site with their closest guests, which makes the celebration feel like one long, joyful gathering. The vineyard and gardens give a relaxed, natural backdrop not to mention the pool, spa and sauna.
You have some freedom here to really make this property your own for your wedding or the surrounding days and there’s lots of accomodation with a large 4 bedroom house plus four self contained apartments. The hosts are thoughtful and the vibe is tranquil.

Thurlby Domain is back! (and I for one am so excited about it.) Thurlby Domain feels timeless and romantic, with the historic ruins of the homestead build in 1872 as well as historic barns surrounded by established trees and grounds. I especially love autumn weddings here with all the golden leaves and apples on trees.
Best for romantic, garden weddings with a touch of fairytale.

Royalburn is an authentic high country station on the Crown Range that offers two private venues with breathtaking rural views.
Hay Shed Terrace provides sweeping mountain vistas and sunsets, ideal for larger gatherings (seen in the first 4 images)
Prohibition House, a renovated 1920s cottage, has loads of character and is perfect for intimate celebrations – planner Watson and Wyatt. A scenic walking path links the two, allowing couples to blend both spaces into their day.
Best for couples that love rural landscapes and a blank slate to make your own.

The Pavillion is wonderfully flexible, a blank slate for couples can make completely their own. What I love most is how Lake Hayes frames the entire day, especially at sunset when the mountains reflect on the still water. Those quiet moments by the lake always end up being some of the most memorable photographs.
Lake Hayes Pavillion adjoins the the showgrounds and has a purpose built marque ground. Owned by the Queenstown Lakes Council, it’s a well loved local hall and great value.
Great for couples who want a DIY blank canvas with a lakefront backdrop.

I’ve been a regular visitor at Deer Park Heights for nearly 20 years, to take family, to visit the animals and for amazing scenery for photos. High above Lake Wakatipu, the views of The Remarkables and the valleys below are expansive and cinematic. There’s lots of variation in the landscape as well as sites for LOR fans and of course an animal encounter. Bring $2 to use the feed machines and the goats are your new bffs.
There are many sites with in the park for small or large weddings and no shortage of places to go for photos. The other great thing is that you can always find a sheltered spot and it gets the last of the sunshine hours.
The passionate managers held their own wedding here, so they know a thing or two about setting up and try to ensure everyone has their own space to enjoy some privacy while also accomodating the many visitors on site.
Best for adventurous couples who want epic, cinematic photos.
