News

The last couple of months have been busy, even as the wedding season is winding down and winter is kicking in. I have many many wedding images to share over the next few weeks (stay tuned). I have lots of families in Queenstown for holidays who have contacted me to have portraits taken – what a great time to arrange it! You are hanging out, playing in the snow all relaxed and happy.

Issue 3 of Mag Rouge went live earlier this month and it is beautiful. Any of you planning your wedding will LOVE looking through it. New to the issue is a Wedding directory and I was approached by the team at Mag rouge to be a part of it, which is a great honour seeing who the other hand picked wedding photographers are! Find me on page 288.

But my biggest news is that in May, I got my Q’s from The New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography(NZIPP). I finished studying photography in 1999 and have shot many weddings and worked in many areas of the photographic industry since then, but I was still extremely nervous to have my work judged by a panel of very experienced photographers. To be Qualified by the NZIPP, you have to show that you can produce a consistent style, have control over a wedding day timeline, interact naturally with people and colour correct and design an album. Only the NZIPPP can qualify you as meeting professional standards in all areas of practice. The above image is from one of the wedding books that was put through the judging process. I had hesitated going through this process for quite a few years, but I am really glad that I did it.
